As photographers, we are always looking for the best light to help us accomplish our goals for your engagement photography. We always like to photograph an engagement session in the morning hours before 11:00am and at least 1-2 hours before sunset.

Crystal and John showed off a little bit of who they are and what they like during their recent engagement session. It was such a blast for me to take care of their engagement photography in Houston. And as true Houstonians, they represented their favorite sports team! While doing this, they allowed me, as their Houston engagement photographer, to capture who they are and what they like. You can see what they enjoy doing together and how much they love one another just by seeing the smiles and jersey’s in their photos featured here today!

Today, I’m going to give you a few ideas on how you can best show off your style and highlight who you are during your engagement session. And as your go-to Houston engagement photographer, I couldn’t be more excited to help!

Remember – you have two outfit choices!

Here at Jessi Marri Photography, your engagement session includes the option to bring two outfits! I usually recommend each couple to bring one formal outfit and one casual outfit. This gives you the perfect opportunity to bring the outfits that make you feel like a million bucks! You can bring your favorite outfits that coordinate and show off who you are as a couple to make you feel even more comfortable in front of the camera!

But don’t wear anything uncomfortable!

Remember that we may walk around a bit during the session. You will also be posed and want to feel comfortable doing so. So, make sure to bring a change of shoes if you choose to wear heels. And don’t wear a dress that you don’t feel confident in!

The location matters, too!

If there is a specific location that you are dreaming about for your Houston engagement photographer to take your engagement photos at, it’s important to let them know that! As Jenny walked down the aisle to meet her prince charming, all was right in the world. You could feel the love in the air the closer they got to one another. As their Houston wedding photographers, it was wonderful to experience the joy on their faces as the ceremony began.

We got to document one of the most magical moments in a couples life as Jenny and BJ exchanged their vows. One of our favorite things is to see a couple vow their lives to one another. While featuring some of our favorite photos from The Carriage House wedding they had, we’re going to share with you a few details to keep in mind for your ceremony.

Sentimental details

Many couples add in sentimental details to their ceremony. Things such as a rose or a photo on the chair of a loved one that has passed on. They also do things like a unity candle or a sand ceremony, symbolizing the two families coming together. Another great experience I had at The Carriage House was documenting Jenny getting ready for the day she had long awaited.
